3rd Trimester!

We are officially in the 3rd trimester.  This week marks week 30 (I can't believe it!).  I have doctor's appointments every two weeks now and am growing quite rapidly.  The baby is constantly moving around and the kicks come harder each day.  The doctor said that the ultrasound measurements were right on target and that all of the baby's organs look good.  We are now cleared to pre-register at the hospital and start our childbirth classes this week.  We also started putting together some furniture for the nursery this week.

29 weeks

Because we are in the 3rd trimester and getting so close to the birth of our wonderful child, we would love for family and friends to start making guesses about:
1. When will the baby be born? (official due date is May 15)
2. What is the gender of the baby?
3. How much the baby will weigh?
4. What will we name the baby?

Feel free to change your guesses as the time gets closer and I get bigger!  (Who knows, maybe there will be a prize for the closest guesses)

February Update

It is the last week of my 2nd trimester and the baby is growing right on schedule, according to the doctor.  I had a check-up last Thursday and heard the wonderful heartbeat once again.  Aaron and I are starting to decorate and organize the nursery.  I just finished making curtains for the room!  I have included some pictures of the curtains and my continuously growing belly.

After much procrastinating, the curtains are finally finished!

This is the material for the curtains.  Aaron and I are decorating the nursery with a bird/owl theme.

Week 23 - Ultrasound Take 2

Had another doctor's appointment today.  The doctor said the baby was very healthy and is growing right on schedule.  She also said that within the next few weeks I should be feeling much more movement of the baby.

Due to an uncooperative baby at week 19, I had another ultrasound appointment today.  The baby was very cooperative today, so the tech got all of the measurements and pictures that the doctor needed. And I got a lot more pictures of our very cute and photogenic baby.  My ultrasound tech was great!  She described everything we saw in detail and then gave me a lot of pictures to keep.  My favorite part of the day was when I saw the baby's tongue and mouth moving.  I think we are going to have a very experienced eater in the Shetler household.

Baby's Profile (Look at the cute nose!)

Another Profile Shot - The baby kept putting its hands by its mouth during the ultrasound

The baby was waving!  Great shot of the open hand.

Week 21

Shaffers this picture is for you.  As the weeks pass, the baby continues to grow and so do I.  Aaron and I had a great Christmas and got some cute things for the baby.  While we were both on break we began to decorate the nursery.  Aaron painted the entire room in one day!!!  I started making some curtains, however I did not get nearly as much done as Aaron.  I am looking forward to my next doctor's appointment where they are going to do another ultrasound, hopefully the baby is turned the right direction this time.  Aaron and I continue to come up with names for our little one.  We are always open for suggestions!

Week 19 Ultrasound

Aaron and I went to the doctor's this evening and had the awesome experience of seeing the future Shetler.  The tech told us the baby was breech, so she would not be able to tell us the sex of the baby. This doesn't matter because Aaron and I want to be surprised when the baby is born.  Here are two pictures that the tech printed.

The cutest little foot I have ever seen.

Baby's face.  Who does the baby look like????

We are Expecting!

We are expecting a new addition in the Shetler House on May 15, 2013!  Aaron and I are so excited for this little one to make an appearance this spring and thank God daily for this tiny miracle.

Evidence of a baby at 18 weeks

I had a doctor's appointment on December 18 where I again got to hear the baby's heartbeat. The doctor said the baby sounds very healthy and has an excellent heartbeat.  The baby is continuously moving (I can't feel it yet) when we go to the doctor's office and makes finding the heartbeat a challenging process for the doctors!

Check back on December 20 for ultrasound pictures of the baby at 19 weeks!
